Weekend Tales

This weekend seemed like the first really busy weekend of the new year. The weekends are usually my down time, but this time its worth sharing.

Halston and his "Halston-ettes". 

Friday started off with  Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston down at the IFC. Halston for those who think of as the designer of the current Halston Heritage label (wrong, so wrong), was the designer of the 70's and it has been said "The 70's belonged to Halston". The movie was so, so but the clothes were stunning and such great fashion eye candy.

With Halston on the brain I headed to the NY Vintage show in Chelsea following brunch at ABC Kitchen. Its a cool brunch spot and everything on the menu (which btw was made of recycled cardboard boxes) is locally sourced and organic.

The vintage show was packed to the gills with vintage pieces from the turn of the 20th century up until fairly recently. First booth in and I already spotted tons of finds. One minty green Courreges dress and a grey tweed Dior motorcycle jacket later, I was feeling good about things.

Today I spent all day installing a friend's apartment (because PS I am a jack of all trades and dabble in interior design), which we have been working on for what seems like months. It's a great studio in a very downtown neighborhood, that has lots of natural light but was lacking much else. Just white walls. Were not quite done with the design, but today was the first time it I saw it really come together.

And onto of trying to make friends with my new obsession Instagram (in case you didn't notice from the pics) tonight, I'll be watching the Super Bowl...Go Giants! Woot. Woot
