I've been on a big gingham kick ever since I spotted Miu Miu's fun gingham slingbacks. Gingham is a good way to cut your basics with a little color and pattern without going overboard and it looks great (if not better) on guys and girls alike.

Gingham looks great with white, either on top or on the bottom and J. Crew and Ralph Lauren always have separates in various gingham hues.

When it comes to interiors gingham can look a little to "country chic". We once had kitchen stools with blue gingham cushions and I HATED them, but done right this look can prove to be sophisticated. Jeffery Bilhuber really stands out for his gingham clad rooms.

Gingham doesn't have to be all white. This ASOS frock is a nice counterpart in shades of orange and gold. Other colors that work well are turquoise and teal and berry and lavender.

Gingham is a tried and true fashion staple that always looks good. Who else to prove this point than Jackie Kennedy, a loyal gingham wearer.
