After spending the weekend celebrating Mom, I am back home and faced with grey skies and rain. On a good day the view out my windows is this...

green, green, green and a million miles from the typical New York view. Most people see the skyline, buildings, windows, water towers and air-shafts, so having some green is nice. I've been thinking about bringing some green inside with a large natural element.

A fiddle leaf fig could be a good start. I already have a large woven basket like the one Grant Gibson and Lauren Santo Domingo have (it currently houses pillows in the living room) so it would be easy to get one growing in there.

I like the look of Jonathan Adler's planters (presumably his own design) as they are sleek and colorful and finding a ceramic pot at a garden store would be pretty simple.

I have heard these plants can be temperamental and need just the right balance of sunlight and heat so we'll see if I actually go for it.

One thing I know for sure I will be adding to my apartment is Jo Malone's new line of home scents, which come in my favorite Lime Basil & Mandarin. Smells so good and is a nice clean, non perfume-y way. I even picked some up for Mom for Mother's Day!
So even if its crappy outside at least there are ways to make it smell like a perfect summer day inside all year round!
